Everglades Fishing Charters Fishing Report April 13, 2013

Great Fishing, No Crowds and Beautiful Weather

If you don't like the crowds that Spring Breakers/Easter brings but do enjoy fishing in the spring like weather before the heat of summer arrives.....now is the time to come down to the Everglades National Park/10,000 Islands.

The fishing is GREAT.  We had a nice mild winter along with a little rain..... add these two combos together and it makes fishing good....Why?? you might ask.  In my opinion it keeps the baitfish inshore while the little bit of rain we have had keeps the water flowing off the wetlands in which provide an abundant of food.

TARPON, TARPON, TARPON  yes the migration of TARPON have arrived and it looks like they are going to stay awhile. Everything is just the way they like it....Perfect water temperature, perfect air temperature and lots of baitfish around.  Us guides that are fishing for them are jumping a handful and landing a couple each morning.  Would you like to put yourself to the test to find out just how bad these big boys/girls are?  Come on down and we'll put you on one or more of these  monstersYou will find out why after you fight one you won't care to fight another one, at lease not till after your fishing partner catches his....They are one mean machine that just won't give up without a fight which includes drag screaming, bull dogging, leaping into the air (what a beautiful sight that is) and head shaking all in order to try and beat you.  If TARPON is on your list.....now is the time to make it happen and catch that SILVER KING....you won't be disappointed in this amazing beautiful fish.

SNOOK, SNOOK, SNOOK  yes, the big SNOOK have moved inshore to our outside islands.  We are catching them on the flats, around the mangroves, in the river mouths and on the outside points of the islands.  Fun to catch?  You bet they are.  Yes, the season is still closed but we can still catch them, just have to practice catch and release.

TARPON or SNOOK not on your game plan?  That's okay because we are catching lots of REDFISH, TROUT (nice size..with quite a few over 20+) some POMPANO, MACKEREL, BLUEFISH, LADYFISH, JACKS and the occasional COBIA.  The TRIPLE TAIL are still around but starting to get a little scares. On the whole Fishing right now is very good with a lot of action to keep everyone as busy as they want to be.

So....what are you waiting for....pick up that phone and give me (Capt Becky) a call 239-695-2029 because the fishing is great and the weather is just fantastic.  Now is the time to make your plans for that fishing experience of a lifetime here in the EVERGLADES NATIONAL PARK/10,000 ISLANDS.
